Welcome to the website of the Southern Africa Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics (SAJPAM) electronic journal.
The SAJPAM eJournal publishes original research papers and survey articles dealing with experimental, numerical and theoretical results from all over the world in all areas of the mathematical sciences.
This web site also contains information about the Southern Africa Mathematical Sciences Association (SAMSA), its contacts, members its publications and conferences as well as the latest news and announcements and events organized by the association.
Please click on the navigational links to learn more about the journal and SAMSA.
The SAMSA conferences have over the last 30 years served as an avenue for the exchange of knowledge, information and provoking new ideas in problem solving between experts from Southern Africa’s academic, industrial and commercial sectors. Being conscious that the world is increasingly becoming one, SAMSA has always extended invitation to experts from the western countries who have been gracious enough to be present to share their ideas at the conferences. To commemorate the association’s achievements, SAMSA will this year hold its conference in the tourist town of Livingstone in Zambia. The 2011 SAMSA conference will be jointly hosted by University of Zambia, Copperbelt University and Mulungushi University.

The primary goal of the Masamu Program is to enhance research in mathematical sciences within Southern African Mathematical Sciences Association (SAMSA) institutions through promotion of international research collaboration. A key component of the Masamu Program is the Advanced Study Institute and Workshop Series in mathematical sciences that provides a platform for such collaboration. The target audiences of the Advanced Study Institute are graduate students and early career faculty (rank less than associate professor) while the workshops are open to students, faculty, and other researchers in the mathematical sciences. The first Masamu Advanced Study Institute and Workshops will be held December 1 – 14, 2011 in Livingstone, Zambia at the end of the 2011 SAMSA conference. September 1, 2011 is the submission deadline for support requests for activities beginning spring 2012. All areas of research at the interface of biology and mathematics will be considered, but we are especially interested in expanding beyond the areas of research supported to date. Potential organizers of activities in areas of molecular biology, cell biology, network biology, immunology and systems biology are particularly encouraged to submit requests for support of Working Groups or Investigative Workshops Click here for more information
